What chance do we have

Was on a rat job in a school.  I explained that a programme using ferrets is advised as the rats are exhibiting bait & trap shyness. Heavy activity under the many porta cabins and sheds .I'm gobsmacked at the personal views of the teachers , but not surprised.  They stopped short of saying I was cruel.  Having explained how rodentiides work and how glue boards must be checked every 12 hours .  Trying to explain it's far more humane using the old methods is futile.  These people ( teachers) are pushing their own bigoted views on our children.  Were done I'm afraid.  I dread to think where pest control will be in 10 years never mind hunting.  Sad times people.

It’s like the saying you can’t educate pork, but mind you I get it off some customers when we do them through the house insurance. You find the problem then go to bait it with them saying I don’t want to poison them or snap traps placing. In the end I just walked away cos it didn’t matter what you went to get out the van the answer was no.

It’s because it’s in their face mate .If the poor sods died a miserable death under ground or such out of sight that’s ok but dare you show or enjoy the killing part , your a bad person .We had a women screaming at us while back for using ferreted and dogs to kill rats in a women’s garden .We carried on but you can see why some would stop and let the homeowner put up with them .
The women’s cat died from eating a poisoned rat or a couple of them so no poison on that job .

Your right the country is sinking by the day .

I'm an ex-teacher and I can fully understand where you're coming from. The number of times I tried to be teach a more open view of topics like this. I simply got on and did it my way. Slowly, slowly: catchy monkey and all that jazz...like making sure that when I taught food webs in science I mentioned badgers and foxes killing sheep etc. I once took a class of inner city reception children (4 to 5 years old) to a country show and, as a precursor, took in my ferrets and kelpie for a handling session. Rusty the kelpie also did a herding and ferreting demo in the hall.

Unfortunately, it's the way that education is going. It's teaching by number...child says this therefore teacher does this...I put up with it for over twenty years but finally "retired" a couple of months before covid...then had to teach my kids at home for free...D'oh!

So typical of deluded attitudes people have regarding animals today. They class themselves as animal lovers but most could not really care less how animals live or die as long as nothing that they actually see "offends" them and their is meat in the fridge and their living and work spaces are "vermin" free. Have you considered using a magic wand? I'm sure that the school library will be full of Harry Potter books.

No not home schooled but taught at home aswell as school, you’d have to be a fool to leave your kids education to a stranger or school, Why can’t you educate at home aswell, especially on subjects that you know the media an powers that be are not telling the whole truth ?

my kids learn there own history at home, way before school thinks about it, they learn bible stories an stuff way before they even start school, can count an most them could read an write ffs, only the lazy, ignorant or just outright foolish would send there kids to school everyday an not question or put right what they been taught, like I said it’s YOUR job to make sure YOUR family is ready for the life ahead of them, not some teacher who are’s your kid for a few months out there life ?

For one my kids have all grown up and have familys of there own and think there  schooling our culture was still just hanging in there , different story for my 9 grandkids our culture has been pushed a side in school for fear of offending other cultures so you think thats right ? Oh a yes my kids and grandkids have learnt whats right at home , my oldest grandaughter loves beating and liked her ferreting oldest grandson hopeing for a trainees job on our shoot when he leaves next year , he already drives the mule and quad can drop birds with a 12 and loves a dig , so i think there on the right path eh
