FOXHUNTER 5,021
Had a trip out yesterday afternoon with my old mate who used to be into long range shooting but hasn't fired a rifle in 5 years now , I managed to tempt him out for the day. Our plan was to hopefully get a shot at a fox but I never expected to see as many as we did ( 10 in total ) during daylight. We set up watching the gorse patch opposite and it wasnt long before I spotted foxes. 1st fox he dropped at 375 yds followed by a 2nd at 525 yds A magpie joined the party and landed on top of a hawthorn bush at 315 yds and was duly vaporized We then moved down the valley and spotted 2 foxes on the far bank, mate dropped 1 of them at 421 yds and the other scarpered , didnt pick this one as was starting to get dark and was a bit of a retrieve.A great afternoon with 3 foxes and a magpie bagged with plenty more foxes to go at , need another session soon. 16 1 Quote Link to post

I use a bendy straw on a bamboo kebab stick as a wind vane and an anenometer too, but even with all the setup it helps, but nothing beats good old practice for long range, just wish I had some chance to get out, winters coming yippee 1 Quote Link to post
