Ted Newgent 4,896
I managed to get my mates elk on film. this bull was actually calling his cows when we found him, they were cow calling him back. as my mate made his way closer I used the cow call to keep the bull occupied.

Ted Newgent 4,896
First day of cow elk hit the field 1/2 before legal hunting. not seen dick all. Loads of beaten down elk trails thru the bush. Found 2 watering holes. every couple of hundred yards the bull or bulls have destroyed the trees marking their territory. found a spiker shed. sunny here -2c 50 kms wind so it’s -12c with the wind chill. not seen a damn animal just having a bite to eat Edited October 15, 2020 by Ted Newgent
Ted Newgent 4,896
Well that was an interesting afternoon I walked up the north end of the field as I have seen elk in the neighbouring section. there was 12 cows and a few calves, so I started to cow call. Got the attention of a calf which started heading my way. Mum obviously started to follow. I kept calling and they kept coming. Next thing BOOM from a rifle the cow dropped and I jumped behind a tree. some other Hunter was in the other field!!! close call for me
