Had a wheaten x that loved pissing in lads wellies. Lol. Any new lad came out with us he'd have to hold rusty on the lead at some point during the day and as sure as shit rusty would piss down his leg. Lol. 4 Quote Link to post

I would be happy to put the work in and give them a good head start. I would just worry about who they were going to. If you’re in decent circles and can have some decent people put their names down For a pup then it might be worth breeding. Quote Link to post

Just a thought If you want numbers you drive the land with a lamp,if you have a lurcher that struggles to catch what it easily kills then you drive the slug and drop it out of the motor on top of its knackered quarry.A daytime dog that hunts up its own chase, spy,s it hundreds of yards away and then can cover the ground and make up the distance that a slug never could. It will never account for anything like the numbers a 4x4 and lamp allows,it will account for,on a regular basis, better hunting and a more proficient ability.Id not own a Deerhound/Greyhound as I think they are a lost cause, ive seen far more Bull type lurchers far more useless. 2 Quote Link to post

Agree with that, you can never fully judge a deer dog by numbers, there’s far too many variables in the way people run them. Obviously the dog needs to take a reasonable tally to be classed as a good dog but I’ve seen a few very average that have accounted for numbers by the owners stacking the odds in their favour.
