I have been ploughing through stupidly and haven't sorted it. It's all good and well saying that but if it puts someone out of work then it's a bad do. I think you're confusing an aching back which everyone gets with something like I've got, big difference matey. Edited August 20, 2020 by Greb147

That's why I need a diagnosis first because if it's something to do with my piriformis then remedies like that, sitting on a tennis ball etc will aggravate it even more. I do wonder though if it can ever be cured seeing the right specialist. Like I said I want to start training but scared to do anything like squatting or deadlifting incase it goes properly and I have to have time off work. Was in a nasty rta 6yrs ago.... Spent thousands on physio, acupuncture, heatwraps, gels etc.....Best I've found are diazipam for relaxing, but they send me straight to sleepno good when your in work... Only other thing that works is 4/5 tramadol when it plays up....... But they strip all your fat and end up looking like a bag head... Like wilf said, you just got to live with it best you can unfortunately
JDHUNTING 1,817
Ive come to the conclusion most average blokes just have to get on with all their ailments, I've had tons of minor-major injuries and none of them ever fully heal imo. Did my back when I was 16 got it sorted to a point in 6 months or so but it always comes back periodically, broke my leg badly got some of the strength and movement back but I've never got close to 100% and seem to get a lot of niggles with tendons and nerves in it now. Did to much road running as a youngster and did my cartilidge now they swell up every couple of months and ache like feck. Ripped all the ligaments in my elbow off got it sorted but now get bubbles of fluid that press on something and makes my arm shake and go dead. Docs is always a hassle when you've a job and family and just want to get on with life so I've found you just learn to live with these things and work around them. Blokes weren't designed to live much past 40 imo we would of been beaten to death by horny teenagers in the wild.

They're good things to do no matter what your lifestyle imo.

So some hip and lower back stretches are good to consider too. Just daily/weekly routine stuff to try to keep everything pointed the right way and loose. I'm terribly inflexible and do get little niggles like you so it's stuff I'm trying to remedy.
Greb147 6,809
Am I the only one that has suffered with painful elbows from squatting, at times it was painful just getting under the bar.

Elbows? On a regular back squat? Nah, lol. I don't know if it's a 'thing' but with higher volume stuff I'll sometimes do what might best be described as a crucifix stance, arms straight out and running along the bar wrapped around slightly overhand. It's not as stable which is why I wouldn't use it for heavy stuff but I find it more comfortable in higher reps. That would take all the tension out of you elbows, might help? Either that or try one of those safety squat bar things, that'll bring your elbows forward a bit reducing the stress.
gnasher16 30,118
Its the same as anything maintenance or repair......people would rather throw money at something once it breaks than put themself out to maintain it.....body,car,machine if its got moving parts you have to maintain it.....you cant expect to put regular stress through delicate parts of the body without a reaction thats why you have to maintain the body on a regular basis....disc degeneration sets in quite early in life if you have shifted weights around it will be even earlier usually lower spine around L4/L5 .....the key is maintenance, understanding and listening to your body.......suppleness,a strong core and staying well hydrated......in short, dont let it get to " shit.... my back is f****d " Edited August 20, 2020 by gnasher16 2

Honest pal, I haven't done any training for a few years now but I shit you not squatting gave me tennis elbow like symptoms. Have you seen those safety squat bars, they look great for folk that have tight shoulders and such. Edited August 20, 2020 by Greb147
