First bit completely agree. Neanderthal, Denasovian, came from Australopithecus, who left Africa a couple of million years ago... but so did we We just had to evolve different. There was an interesting article about 10 years ago from China, they were trying to prove a genetic direct link to the waves of Australopithecines and prove chinese/Asians were a seperated human species. Totally proved wrong through the genetic markers (paternal and maternal) but they did come out with some very weird results

I know we have such classifications but is there actually such a thing as a subspecies? 

It's true that species have different adaptations to suit their habitat but are they really a subspecies? 

You only have to look at animals like Tigers, Leopards etc.

What makes me laugh is we can readily separate animals in to subspecies when they have physical or geographic differences yet woe betide anyone who tries to do the same with humans.

The only differences is physical, to the eye, the rest is just conjecture, but how does this equate to the missing link?

Pretty much yeah. Much of the world does, with the exception of subsaharan Africans. Well they might have a trace amount.

Heres another question, I wonder what led each group down such different paths ?

So, your European has really taking his potential a long way and your sub Saharan African has barely changed ? 
 

Brain size maybe?.......that bit of extra volume meant a lot ?

Difference is diet and need, so we're led to believe. I'm not a neurologist, as I understand it, human brains are all (roughly) the same size. Neanderthals had bigger brains
