Doing the same in the next couple of days myself Francie, one of mine is going into p1 and it's going to be very confusing for her from going from the freedom of playschool to a lot of rules is going to be hard for her I'd say and hard work for the teachers.

Jonjon79 13,358
One thing that you won't hear much about - home schooling is on the rise all over the country. .......... a lot of kids are doing well from not having a lefty agenda shoved down their throats. They're still socialising and learning well - it's not as difficult as most would imagine

Mr Wilkes 3,022
I clean the windows for a husband and wife who are doctors , They deal with COVID patients at a local hospital, the wife said..” we call all children super spreaders... when your children go back to school make sure you Bath them and wash their clothes as soon as they come home... Children are quite resilient but it’s you who’s susceptible to what they bring Back home ( being over 50yrs old).
WILF 47,201
In fairness lads, I think it’s hard to know because I don’t think the schools even know. What I’m pretty sure of is that it’s not going to just be business as usual, I think being able to plan your week is right out of the window.....kids may do a few days, a couple, week on / week off or you may be called at a moments notice to pick them up if someone has displayed symptoms and then they will have to isolate for a couple of weeks, as should we strictly speaking. The old timetable of life is right out of the window imho

I’m very lucky in that I’m semi retired mate but it’s going to be very tricky for parents to balance work/home/kids and I think employers are going to have to recognise that as are clients and ultimately the government who come with their hand out to everyone. I personally believe things are going to have to change big time if they are serious about this virus......or.........they will say “f**k it” and let people get sick because it’s affecting the system and the government coffers. I really do think that. They have to take the pressure off folks to let them stay safe and do what’s best for their families.....I wonder if they will ? My opinion is that the system is not designed with such a catastrophic event in mind, it’s designed for maximum output and that simply can’t happen now......Mother Nature went and changed the rules on everything. Governments have taken so much for so long that now its the time to give Some back, help people and stop pissing it away on nonsense. jmho

They had a total lockdown what 6 months ago because they thought we were all doomed so to speak.but opening up a lot of places now and the only difference I can see that's happening is face masks and hand washing. So is the virus a lot less deadly than first thought it seems to be.but I'm just Mr average so don't really know as I've given up on watching any news channels. I think the next thing to do is just see if cases spike 2 or 3 weeks after schools open up. There's only so much money the government can throw at the economy though surely.
