Sausagedog 7,381
.....about my 357 Winchester 94 the other day. It was a brilliant rifle and the cartridge was amazing. Cheap to reload too. I'm now toying with the notion of swapping the 452 in WMR for a Winchester 9422m..... very tempted. Would make a nice carry rifle, maybe just get a peep for it. 6 Quote Link to post

Alsone 789
Love the face visor in the 1st photo. Hope you're socially distancing from those foxes. Clever buggers, just like them to engage in germ warfare. As for .357 magmum, no experience of it in rifles but it is an excellent handgun round and despite being one of the oldest, still one of the most powerful today in terminal effect. I imagine through a rifle length barrel, you're not far behind .223. I've heard energies in the region of 1,000 ft lbs (500ft lbs usually through a pistol) and velocities in the high 2,000's from a rifle. For comparison .223 is @ 1,000 ft lbs and 3,200 fps depending on the cartridge. Edited August 15, 2020 by Alsone Quote Link to post

It's just a pinch to large for squirrels, rabbits and fox's. The 357 could easily do the lot Quote Link to post
KimE 487
Maybee big for squirrel and rabbit but perfect for fox and roe. 357 are cheap to reload and ammo are less expensive than 22wmr here. 1 Quote Link to post
