ginge2k6 0
Your right there mate, I don't live in Ireland but over here there is a general shortage of young kids of about 10-12 getting involved, I blame schools and just general soceity mate, Kids are so easy to mould that teachers and parents, other adults all have an effect on thier viewpoints. Personally i am still young (17) and love getting out and getting stuck in but until we change the way young lads and lasses are brought up and educated our sport will slowly fade away. waz77 15
How many of us actually give the young uns a chance tho? When i was a kid a mate of my dads got me into the game and took me out but a yr later he died of a brain tumor. So there was i full of enthusiasm but not much knowledge.Could i feck get anyone else to take me out,and there were a few people around here who were into it then,so i plodded on and learnt the hard way on my own,i was about 7 then,im 30 now and only just started going out with a few other people, but when your young nobody wants you tagging on,shame really, although i learned a lot doing it the hard way im sure i would have learned more from someone with experience.
