I went down to South Australia a few years ago and met friends of my friends from Kangaroo Island,they spoke with an old fashioned English accent/words like they were off the first fleet here.They were descendants of pioneer people,they even looked like old pics of the first white settlers.I'm sure I could hear the chains dragging behind them,lol.They told me of their pig dog that was back on the island that was bigger than a Dane and would grab and eat other dogs that went too close to it.I would have liked to see it.

The terriers I've had usually lose the first one or two rabbits but don't take prisoners after that.

A realise that so much depends on the type of land being worked but I've owned a couple of what I would class as very good rabbiting terriers that very rarely actually caught a rabbit.

We got this place at min and its alive we caught 24 rabbits with 6 terriers no ferrets nets gun or running dogs, also had 17 16 15 and loads days over 10, unreal marra.

It is not seen any Mixi yet so hope get good season at the ferreting.

RHD seems to be more of a threat these days in some places. They don't appear to bounce back like with mixi. That coupled with the small breeding sets getting flooded during the last few wet summers we've had.

Got bad knee at min so not been out as much, but had hobble around local farm on the long tails ended up with 18.

Barney the Dandie marked rat in tire half grown all looked good got it out and he chased it just about to pick it up and along comes my Plummer and nailed it, but he is definitely trying hard.
