The best lamping rabbit and all round fox dog I've owned was a first x bull greyhound bitch , she didn't look like the bull x's you see these days she looked more like a lab x greyhound , owned her from a pup until she died of old age , she kill her last fox at the age of ten which was bolted out of a drain, she never saw a dales rabbit but I know she would of catched good numbers up there .

Funny you say that ...one of the best ones I seen on lamped bunnies was a pit/ grey first cross...my mate owned it..unbelievable stamina she had only 22 inch 45 lbs ish....

I remember him working away steel erecting for months...took her out when he got back 11 year old she was and she caught I think 38 up Chatsworth way in Derbyshire. ..she hadn't been out for ages...great old bitch she was

It is in it ? Tbh he did tell me but i forgot i ask when see him , i told if he was to bung a whippet or a grew over it in the future i may be tempted to go s astay from beddys but if this pup works aswell as its been trained it will. Be some dog he just started it on the net , he did say it been hard work and i aint suprised coz all the dogs iv seen come from there are highly strung nervous things ?

My lad had a three quarter bred, by merlin, from there. Best temperamant I've seen on any collie cross, and I've seen a lot, and owned a couple.

Got to say though, every dog with beardie in from there that I've seen, or sired by from there, like one I had years ago, sired by taffy, have been more than a tad hard work, odd,  weird, call it what you will

Think the problems start because there not socialised this one was scared of its own shadow but fair play to him his hard work is paying off

My first lurcher was a Hancock bred beardie x greyhound but that was back when he had Remus as his beardie stud. She certainly wasn't nervous! Anything but! I had a devil of a time breaking her to sheep (a bit of a necessity as I lived in Coniston!) but she became bomb-proof on them. She'd have a go at anything from mice and magpies to shelduck and heron...fortunately she didn't catch them but it was not my proudest moment...the heron was in the garden standing in the beck but the shelduck was at Torn Hows with tourists close by. Eek! My dog training has come a long way since then.

Edited to add: re them being one man dogs...she went missing once and I spent hours searching all over Coniston Moor when I heard reports of a dog trapped down one of the disused mines but it turned out she was at Hawkshead police station after jumpimg over the garden wall and following a mother and daughter and jumping in their car with them. Complete tart she was. Make friends with anybody.

What's urs mine is a 3/4 grey 1/4 bearded 1/4 boarder but there was a litter slightly younger than mine which was 1/2 grey 1/2 bearded
