In a topic that involves ,football ,and NUFC  , Max could make Greb seem like a reasonable chap who doesn't like a never ending argument .

He'd have a saluki and a white bed sheet bought the day they took over.

Given that no one agrees with you I’d suggest it ain’t. Its Max-sense and Max-morals.... Part of the greater world view that is Maxology

I've just read that a Singapore based consortium have now tabled a bid and if successful they want to appoint Alan Shearer as manager. I've been furloughed for quite some time now and started loosing touch with reality a bit so had to check what today's date is but did not think that I could be that out of touch. I'm not , and the date  is not April the 1st.

It's been happening for a bit Michael Chopra is involved as well Ashley is keen to get shut but he is still talking to the Arabs as well

My missus has just told me about this, so I've had a look.

Looks like they've offered £270 million, and only £250,000 deposit. Ashley has dismissed that out of hand.

Doesnt look good .to me if they couldn't match the other bid of £300 million.

Theres also conflicting reports on how much they are worth; some accounts say they have funds of 12 billion, other reports say their turnover is 12 billion, and others say the 30 odd companies they are involved in are worth a total of 12 billion. There's a huge difference between the three scenarios!

Same with the yank, evidently he had no contact with Ashley, it was just wild speculation.

After the saudi debacle, I won't believe anything until I see the Sports Direct hoardings in St. James park coming down !

Cheers.

Chopra? I think he scored more goals for Sunderland than he did for Newcastle.

He is involved some how he said on Twitter when the Arabs pulled out not to  put the cans away just yet with a smiley face he probably did score more for Sunderland but who in there right mind is going to help them out and wait for someone to  pay 30 odd million for a mid table 3rd division team and have Donald put aload of add ons like retaining a place on the board

I think on some levels SAFC are a better long term investment prospect than a Premier League club. They already have the stadium and fan base. If you could get it for next to nowt it could pay off ...eventually.

He wants top dollar for it but just look at the club they don't even have a chairman people leaving left right and centre positions not filled just left vacant nows there's a wage cap that advantage they had as gone and Donald will be playing hard ball to keep a place on the board

Do you think ?......they may be like a starter club for someone with money to piss away but they will never be anything big?

You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear type thing.

Nobody in the world has ever heard of Sunderland much less their football team surely ?

Almost anyone around the world who has followed football will know Newcastle or someone associated with Newcastle like Gazza, Shearer, Keegan, Sir Bobby.......Newcastle are a big club and they will attract owners who match their stature I reckon, same as Sunderland will.

When you are talking about buying football teams then I don’t think you can compare the two, it like buying a Skoda or a Maserati......the Skoda May be a decent investment.......but it will never be a Maserati no matter how hard you try.

Few Rumours ?

One is Red Bull are considering investing in English football and 3rd tier is where they want to start and have earmarked Safc and I think it was MK Dons as potential purchases ( prob bullshite )

Another is this Story fella who says he has a handful of prominent European backers who are well known waiting in the wings ( out of the frying pan and into the fire ) ?

Another and which would be the preferred rumour is Furhman I think it is who was part of FFP who loaned Donald 10 mill  wants Donald's 74% - to work alongside Juan Sartori who would keep his 20% and Sartori's Russian father in law buying Methvens 6%

Now that would be canny

All multi billionaires in their own right .

OBrians and a Micky Gray consortium is another rumour ?

Wait and see but there will be no Fooking meltdowns Like up the road the self entitled w---ers ?

The self entitled wankers that you refer to? That would be me Max. But this self entitled thing is an invention of the media not a true representation of the expectations of Newcastle supporters. When relegated most lads I know feared and expected the worst, in that we would plummet down the  leagues and end up mid table 3rd Division with no prospect of getting out of the mire. How embarrassing would that be? We count our blessings to still be in the Premier League and hope to find an owner that will allow us to compete on an even keel with the clubs in England and in Europe, that we once did.

Don't let his bitterness and jealousy deflect what could be exciting times for yous and that's were a club of your size should be in Europe ect

I love the self entitlement bit coming from someone who thinks his team are still one of the greats despite not winning anything since his Grandad's time and are now rubbing shoulders with such EFL giants as Morecambe, Macclesfield and Forest Green Rovers. But then again; hypocrisy is Max's strong subject.
