Family down last week from Surrey... Caught enough in half an hour to put on the barbie..15 mackerel, then paddled in.. They dont get to do this, they are cod and chips through and through..

The fishing argument is a lot more complicated than people realise.  Every day hundreds of French and Spanish registered refrigerated lorries arrive in the UK loaded with French and Spanish farm produ

Mate, I truly take so much for granted, my cousin and her husband were down with husbands brother, sister, mum dad and partners..my bro set a nice camp.on the beach and my parents, kids etc were all.s

Too right, I live in Scarborough and we use to have a good fleet of fishing boats, me dad even had a cobble for the nets and pots when I was a kid!

my best mates dad was a local trawler man and he fecked off to live and fish in Holland over 30 years ago because the industry was fcuked for us?

It's the same over here. I live beside once one of the busiest fish ports in Ireland, now nearly dead, with restrictions, by catch laws, prices, quotas and prices it's hard going.

Then we have this to deal with as well.

Things like this are are killing the legit inshore Fisher man.

People like these have no reguard for the fishing grounds, no wonder there hardly any lobsters left in the ground.

Deal or no deal We have to renegotiate deals. We should go out with a no deal which I think will put us in a stronger position to renegotiate future deals as it shows we won’t take no shit.

f**k the Eu no deal is the way forward imo.

I used to work in North Sheilds almost 50 years ago, and it was a thriving fishing port with a big fleet and fish market.

I went there last week to buy fresh seafood......the market was closed and there was only a handful of boats.

Shops that were fish merchants or ships chandlers are now trendy restaurants and bars.

There was a few shops selling fish and seafood, but it was mostly frozen imported stuff.

Im a dedicated Brexiteer, but I have no faith in the government making a clean break. Total control of our coasts and seas is a requisite of being an independent, sovereign nation, but I'm sure the government and the EU will cobble up some compromise over fishing.

Cheers.

And all because the EU wanted rights to fish our waters and give us quotas and what ever else.

Bollocks to the EU.our waters.our fishing rights..it would be brilliant for the fishing industry to grow in the UK by British fishermen..

true but our greedy trawlermen are no better than EU trawlermen. we need our fisheries back but we also need our commercial fleet to  'sell what they catch' up to a weight limit to prevent by catch and discards which are fkn our fisheries right up.

The amount of prime fish dumped is shameful. Their dead, not going to do anything or anyone any good. If not allowed to sell them, give it away to hospital, homeless shelters schools.

Doesn't make sense
