It's been 10 days now since I smoked a cigarette. No big deal of course and a mere 10 days does not equate to having quit for good.. But what has surprised me is how easy it has been. I have been a smoker for about 40 years and a relatively heavy smoker for some time. The last time that I bought 20 purely on a whim I also got the vape pen pictured. According to friends who "vape" there are far better makes and models out there but it only cost £12 and £3 for the liquid. It has been a seamless and painless  transition from cigarettes to vape from the 1st time I used it. The 20 pack is still here but to date I have had no urge to open it which includes a good night spent with an old mate talking and drinking into the early hours.

I am not trying to preach to any smokers who may read this, 40 years of others preaching to me never worked but, if you do have an inkling to quit I would recommend giving a vape a try.

Same as, smoked for 35 years, heavily. Just stopped one day . Havntv smoked one for a few years now. Get a taste for one now and again, espically when working out doors,  but just brush off the urge.

It's not easy, and it's something that will always stay with you imo.

I have family who were in rehab for cocaine addiction and other drug, alcohol been the worst.  They beat it all, but found tobacco the hardest of the lot.

I'm sure if you try  you'll have no problem, it's all depends on your frame of mind. Definitely working in a bad environment won't help.

I’m pretty lucky as I can smoke as and when I like , I can smoke for couple month then not have one  for 12-18 month , then literally smoke for a week then not for a month then just stop for couple year then just fancy one and literally smoke just one then not touch them again ,

weird really

I gave up first week of lockdown and havnt had one since . Im really proud of myself as i havnt even had a sly smoke. Usually when i wiit before id have a smoke off my dad if i went round or one of a [BANNED TEXT] if i went round for a chat . I been using BluPro e cig from local co op . I had those big vapes before that had huge plumes of smoke and the drag i got off them was awefull even tho they were supposesly "better" . A little pen one i can chuck in my pocket while working works better for me than a big clumbersome thing , plus if i need new juice or end bits its only 5 mins away

It's all well and good going on to the ecig but if your still on it 7 year later you're still a nicotine addict, it should be an aid to quitting and wean yourself off the nicotine going through the weaker strengths to zero nicotine.

I know lads that smoked more with the ecig than fags because you don't have to go outside etc, that's not quitting.

I know folk who are still taking methadone and because they haven't taken smack for a good number of years now they claim there clean:rolleyes:.Swapping one habit for another is not giving up but it is sure on the right path way to do so.Good luck with your goal folks and gnipper is right in reducing rather than cold turkey as such..:victory:
