Filters?

Recommended Posts

We have had the topic on which lamp etc but what colour filter if any do you use? Personally i like an Amber lense on foxes as it takes the glare away but not the brightness but i dont bother with one on rabbits, What do all you use?

I have dimmers on my Lightforce lamps. I troed a red filter on my 140 before but I couldn't get on with it so gave it away to a lad on another site. If I was to (be forced to) try again I'd go for amber but in all honesty for foxes I think they're a bit of a cod as I've done over my lamp shy foxes with a bit of brain power.

We use amber on real dark nights for fox and rabbit if it is not that dark we use clear on both fox and bunny we did use red but the range is poor on foxes.

I suppose it depends as well if others are lamping the foxes and making them lamp shy it makes a difference to use a filter and different squeak.

I use red on rats, fox's and bunnys. I do a scan with a hand held white light first just to see what's about, switch of and give it a few moments then switch on the gun lamp with red filter. Works for me.

Same as that ratty............thats how i use the filter.........but i do without a filter on bunnies if using the dimmer turned down low.
