just cause you have a donator under your name doesn't make the site better it helps ianb to run but in a previous post that he doesn't expect people to pay and you will still get idiots on the site even if they pay there fiver people are getting pressured into donating and made to feel bad about it and for the donator under the name should be removed so it stops posts like this or even open a other section for the donators

How many pages is this going to take to upset loads and achieve nothing...but that is the whole point of freedom and expression, especially in forums such as this.

 

 

There will always be an incredible diversity of views, cultures opinions and interests.

 

Making it a pay site will not change that and another simple reality of..... "I would pay a fiver or a tenner".... is wait and see how many do when the time comes, support will dwindle, the antis will stay because they want to be "inside": others will pay but does that make their view or opinion any more valid?

 

Loads of people on this site have offered advice and help to many, what price can be put on that..do you now want to charge them as well?

 

The debate will rage on..but surely that really is the point!!!!

This is getting pretty sour now! By no accounts should anyone feel they have to donate, its a free forum and donations are optional. This topic is putting all sorts of strain on members to cough up leaving alot of members feeling they have no option but to resign! from a personal point of view I would be pretty hurt to lose some of the long term members like Tom! I consider these people to be friends and although may never have met some of these people I can certainly associate with them through their posts, it's a sad day when the Forum keeps loseing people like this....

Im a donator,, By choice,, I chose to when shitter first put that thread up when ever it was. I enjoy the site enought i thought i would give my fiver,, Does not meen everyone has to,, Its up to you!! What ever way enjoy the site.

 

Still i dont think much will be on the 'buy, sell and swap pages' anymore since that new rule was bought in Can say that with members too cant see to many sticking around for much longer.

This thread has caused rifts and arguments between longstanding members,it has also led to the leaving of a member,who i personally consider to be a worthwhile and knowledgeable contributor to forum discussions.I paid my money out of free personal choice,had it been a compulsory requirement to enable use of the forum,i would not have done so.There are elderly and teenage members of the forum,who sadly may not have a "spare" fiver to donate,should we bar them from the forum?ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

This whole topic does not sit well with me,and i hope the mods see sense,and delete this and any other similar threads concerning this sad affair.This forum has skipped along quite merrily for quite some time,i do not remember any topic that has instigated so much back biting and bad feeling between members.I hope this is the end of it,and that we get back to some sort of normality.

Some of the genuine hunting kids on here that I've come across are better behaved than alot of "adults" Lets not slate em hey.

 

I only joined a month ago, and I love the site. I paid a fiver because it'd be a bloody shame to think someone was out of pocket running this for the good of everyone else - and personaly, some people I've spoken to for advice etc already is worth a shed load more than a fiver to me!

 

I would go out and buy a hunting mag for upwards of £3.50 and only be interested in half of it...... £5'er - unlimited contacts - advice - friends - need I say more?

 

Take the donator badge away from the main display under your name and put it in the peoples profiles maybe if people are that bothered? I read a post saying that being a donator is like making an :db: elite club :db: and segregating those who do and those who dont ....... grow up

The site costs ian a bit of coin...i know this for a fact......

 

the donations go towards that...but even if nobody donated the site woudl still continue.....

 

The only thing affected is the classifieds...and if it stops a few shitty dog peddlers selling their wares and ripping people off then i am all for it.........

You do not, i repeat DO NOT, have to donate to use this site, and i cannot ever see this to change .
