Blackberrys we picked a few today but most not ready till at least next week or the week after. Seen some down a lane about a month ago that were ready they seem all over the place. The Chicken of the Woods is okay to add to a stew that kinda thing but not the best. Hen of the wood though is one of my favourites. Ceps I can not believe it dropped right on them in a favourite spot under an Oak tree, 26 yesterday and 45 today. Will visit again tomorrow still more coming. I have found mainly on Oak and Cherry, never thought about which side of the tree before. Thinking back to last year I picked some from an Oak it had some on the South side and some on the West side. https://www.wildfooduk.com/mushroom-guide/chicken-of-the-woods/ South side small and young. micky 3,325 Posted September 6, 2020 Report Share Posted September 6, 2020 When i worked in Germany there was stall in the market that sold lots of Fungi the main type were Morrels a large bag cost one Mark [ 25 p ] at the time , i have never seen them for sale over here and i have only seen them growing once ! are they very common or would they have been cultivated ? 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
