i got him at 7 months old, his previous owners got him from travellers in wisbech as a pup, and they were told he's a first cross. i've asked a few people for opinions on his breeding, and the general consensus is first cross, coursing greyhound x saluki. i think he's too heavily built to be any more than 1/2 saluki. he puts on muscle better than any other saluki x i've ever seen, and is pretty damned clever too. was a fecker as a pup, but in the last few months has come on leaps & bounds, actually does what i tell him, as long as it doesn't involve getting his arse wet! he's just a bit of a one-off i think. broke the mould after they made that one!

just found these pics of my first dog, 29 1/2" sal x grey by the name of Black Jack Davy. definitely a first cross, bred by my dads best mate, and given to my dad as a present for me to keep me occupied while everyone was fussing over my newborn brother.

we didn't have that many litters out of him. he got to my mums beddy/whippet x greyhound, resulting in a litter of deerhound lookalikes. we kept one back but she died of lepto when she was 3. we were loaned a greyhound to breed him with, got a big litter (14 surviving pups), kept the 2 best & the rest went back to the bitches owner (a well known local dog & horse dealer), and went as betting dogs. i have no idea who had any of them. we still have a dog & a bitch from his bloodline, the bitch has never had a litter & is too old to breed from, and the dog is a bit nuts!

I didnt know zack dingle had a saluki grey? hes a mighty looking dog porbly took hares like travlers take dogs piss easy!

regularly used to take himself off hunting and come back with a hare. he could jump a five bar gate & make it look completely effortless, so he was a bugger to keep in. dad used to go out looking for him, but in the end he gave up & just left the kennel open, sat down & had a cup of tea til Jack came back!
