Don't waste your time sat in front of rods?you yanks are the masters of easiness..... ?Just shoot the cnuts with a bow and line or your AR??

Varies from state to state. That's all the same place and you can fish rivers and reservoir. Even ice fish it in the winter. Few hours west from @Wolfdog91 but whatever you want to fish, you can.

11ft 2lb 25lb uncaught river beastie enjoy the fight, ??

Think that's where alot of the difference starts; even an 8ft rod over here would be 2 piece. Why not look at an 11ft 2 piece blank?

You would think that but for some reason most of the lower prices blanks under $50 are all one piece. You would think the companies would only add a few bucks to the price for cutting a black and adding a Ferrell insert but no ,right on up to $100

Forgot to post this, somone had asked how much bend one of the blanks I have has . Well this is a moderate fast action medium weight 7'6" CRB blank . Yes i know its pink lol,was going to be for my girlfriend but wasnt super happy with the finsihed product. Works just fine just didn't do the finish just right. Anyhow here it is with a 3 oz weight tied to the tip.

That's less than 10 miles from where I'm sat, believe it or not. That water is mainly rainbow trout with a few cutthroats now and again. Our summer climate gets really hot so pike and muskie don't fair well. You have to go a little further north but there is some quality pike and muskie fishing to be had if you're willing to drive a couple of hours, and to be honest on our roads it's easy to get to if you avoid the peak tourist season.

30 miles south we have some superb bass lakes. 20 north we have state record wipers that'll break gear if you hook into one wrong. As someone that's lost a few rods to the wipers I agree with you about taking the right gear, but to be fair I wasn't fishing for them at the time! It's been an expensive lesson!

I had to look up wipers lol.We have them here.We call them stripe.

My buddy accidentally caught this the other day while bass fishing.18 pounds I believe he said. They get alot bigger.

There was 2 oldboys who was in kayaks bowfishing one night and accidentally shot some monster ones but was illegal as they are considered gamefish here.

My personal opinion is that the action on that looks to be fine for what you are talking about, maybe half a touch softer in the tip would be good.

That is fine for casting 3oz weights. However, if you are not intending using weights of this size then the next consideration is line strength and that is governed by the size of fish and the environment; weeds, rocks, current, etc. So, for 15lb carp in open water you could use 8lb line so a 1.5lb tc rod would suffice. If the places you fish are more snaggy then go 10lb line and a 2lb tc rod.

Basically, if you don't need to cast a 3oz weight that action is way too stiff for carp topping at 15lb max in my opinion.

Someone dumped a load of shiners in one of the reservoirs and they introduced the wipers to knock the numbers down. Some decent sized fish but 12lb+ would get you a state record! Good size considering the size of the lake. We fished for stripers in Lake Powell and had some in the high teens low twenties but that's an impressive body of water for the gear we were carrying.

A sh*t day fishing sure beats a good day at work!
