The Arabs have working dogs that are far from pure, lots of crossing in the past and present. Lot of galgos are taken over as they seem to improve their lines without giving many of the drawbacks of greyhounds re stamina and have a similar look.

these recently to Morocco which begs the question why they need to import if pures are that great.

So if people want a dog to run rather than show perhaps import working rather than pedigree animals would be better. these are Arab working dogs, certainly not pure lol.

Saluki is like us calling our dogs lurchers, different styles for different land and quarry. now with travel being so easy all the different strains are all going into the same cooking pot.

I don't see that as a bad thing aslong as selective breeding?

Do you know much about the pashmi hound mush I saw a few in India they was some stamp, or do you think just another strain of saluki with an Indian name.

Pashmi means soft?I think its where pashmina derives from? I saw a saluki type dog in the punjab which could have been one.

Me neither. As long as you breed true to type and the type means „good hare/gazelle/fox hunter“ it is even better to have a broad genetic base.

Yeah, I have the same impression while reading the Saluki book of Terence Clark.

Looks quite short coupled for a saluki other than that I love the strength to him I'm not a fan of the narrow that seem quite common now, great lookin dog Mac..

Good fronts with plenty of room on the old imports not like modern ones.
