Lot of galgos are taken over as they seem to improve their lines without giving many of the drawbacks of greyhounds re stamina and have a similar look. these recently to Morocco which begs the question why they need to import if pures are that great. So if people want a dog to run rather than show perhaps import working rather than pedigree animals would be better. these are Arab working dogs, certainly not pure lol. Is Morocco prime Saluki country? 2 Quote Link to post
mush 204
Saluki is like us calling our dogs lurchers, different styles for different land and quarry. now with travel being so easy all the different strains are all going into the same cooking pot. 1 Quote Link to post

I don't see that as a bad thing aslong as selective breeding? Do you know much about the pashmi hound mush I saw a few in India they was some stamp, or do you think just another strain of saluki with an Indian name. Quote Link to post

Pashmi means soft?I think its where pashmina derives from? I saw a saluki type dog in the punjab which could have been one. 1 Quote Link to post

As long as you breed true to type and the type means „good hare/gazelle/fox hunter“ it is even better to have a broad genetic base. Quote Link to post
