I personally don’t get the fuss at all about this.

After all since the beginning of lockdown the military have been up down and all over the country , including abroad.

Ive been back in work nearly a month now. No real restrictions .

In that time I’ve seen lads stay at camp , go home for the weekend , come back , stay two weeks , have two weeks at home .

We aren’t exactly key workers either. Lads i know at other places have been home March. Others have been at camp isolated .

Ive even seen lads with their kids in camp.

So for him to held to account for a round trip for childcare is madness

Personally, I believe there should be zero restrictions on the the free press. As individuals we need to accept that media corporations are selling a product and act therefore act accordingly. The consumption of the media reflects on the wants of the consumer. In the time of misinformation and disinformation, on this scale, the responsibility lies with the individual, IMHO...

Zero restrictions? You mean they can hack into people's voicemails and intercept their post? Because that is what they are doing. And impersonating friends of people they have an interest in to obtain information by deception.

There is in my opinion no justification for the scrum of press photographers hounding people. IF it were something like national security or uncovering corruption then the people who are subject to their attentions have no excuse. But we are talking about tittle-tattle and spurious allegations constructed by hypocrites in the media. Notice that they never report on their own misdemeanours or offer to resign when they have been found out.

If I had my way any allegations or innuendos made by the press against any individual that turn out to be false or not a criminal offence then the press company should be heavily fined and a proportion of that fine allocated to the victim. And there should be a law as there is in France where nobody can photograph an individual without their permission.

Let's be honest it's been a half hearted lockdown from the start implemented by buffoons.

"We are listening to the scientists advice."

Which f***ing scientist because everyone has a different opinion and that changes with the wind!

One minute this and the next minute that, how the hell do you expect the public to believe what they're being told?

When we got told to go back to work  that should have been the final nail in the coffin.

So I'm alright to go to work and risk infection from a group of strangers who have been god knows where but I'm not allowed to go see family members, shove the lockdown up your arse Bozzer. ?

Zero restrictions on what they report is what I'm saying. I haven't stated anywhere that hacking voicemails and the related shenanigans are at all acceptable, and are already illegal to my understanding. They have nothing to do with the operation of the free press.

Agreed but they're supplying the market with what people want to buy. And the people lap it up. That's cause and effect. It's a business and a shady one at that. Call it out freely for what it is and let the individual decide.

Fair, but the fine would be a drop in the bucket compared to the revenue generated by the clickbait story in the first place. Look at this forum with the deliberate disinformation spread on the likes of Bill Gates. If I had my way people would have a much better time understanding why this sh*t is spread in the first place and would be empowered with the knowledge to act accordingly and take it for what it is.

The law currently censors the likes of T*mmy R*binson. I disagree with a lot of his tactics but that censorship is one reason he's built a support base and why we see a polarized view of the mainstream media. Let him say his piece and let social discourse call it for what it is.

The point of a free press is to encourage discourse on important issues. If we allow the state to control that narrative we substitute the current problem for another one. I can't be the only one to see a danger in not being able to criticize those that we pay to govern our affairs?

The Press need reining in PDQ. These are the same people who were hacking the Voicemails of relatives of murder victims and celebrities not to break some important news, but for the sake of tittle-tattle. They are self obsessed and cannot be trusted. Time for the Press Complaints Commission to get some new teeth.

I’ll argue that if people didn’t buy their papers or pay attention to their shite then they would die out......it’s one of the thing I live about the worlds most powerful nutcase.

He just basically says “Nah, f**k off, not listening, it’s bollocks” lol ........they hate that the most, he makes them irrelevant !

That's where I came in!

The reason they're worth billions is because people lap that sh*t up on a continual basis. Everything printed or broadcasted is market drivel driven.

I have not bought a newspaper in nearly 10 years, f**k em !

When you start going down the wormhole and find out how media, politicians are working hand in glove way above what you just thought they were is truly sinister......but I certainly don’t need to tell you that.

Tbf we aren't the ones instructing people to obey the speed limit, I can understand how it has put people's backs up.

I'm at the point where I feel almost obligated to point that out. I'm that much of an annoying c*nt in real life too!

Too many that call for the censorship complain when it happens to them and, if we look a little further to east, this whole global mess might have been mitigated to some degree if the people that tried to expose it weren't crushed by the state. We're lucky we live in a society where feelings get hurt and to some that's an outrage. Aren't we glad we don't live in a place where having a difference of opinion can get you disappeared!

Is there truth in the headline that police have handed out over 14,000 lockdown breach fines? :hmm:

If true I can't help but wonder who invented the idea that simultaneously removing someone's job and then penalizing them for going out is extremely counter productive from a criminal justice point of view.
