They charged me £40. That was for the rim tape, valves, sealent and labour. Ran those tyres for 2 more years and they never failed. So it's well worth going tubeless.

I could have done it myself Steve.. it was jus a faff i didn'tfancy at the time. I've since replaced those tyres myself and it was straight forward enough. A  bit strange though trying to seat the tyre on the rim without an innertube particularly inflated to stretch the tyre out. I inflated them with just regular track pump too... you just have to pump faster than normal to get the bead to seal at the beginning.

Once the tyre is pumped up, obviously having put your new valve and rim tape on, deflate the tyre.. tip some sealant in (stans) rotate the tyre so the gap is at the 9 o'clock position leaving the sealant sat at the bottom of the tyre.. reseat the tyre.. pump like mad.. give it a good slosh around it will seal any little leaks etc. 

Leave over night and all beig well they should be ready to go!!

I'm sure there's some videos on YouTube if my ramblings don't make much sense!!

Changed my friends tyres at the weekend, they were already tubeless so no tape or valves to do but getting the tyres on was a nightmare, some tyres are handy enough fitted but maxxis minions are a really tight fit. I bought a connector for my compressor that works a treat for getting the tyres seated on the bead.

Couple over looking Ullswater..

Took 2 months of waiting for some to come in stock and ended up with this trek x-caliber 7. Havnt been out much on it yet but it seems decent enough 

Finally got the new bike I'd ordered late last year and have to say its some tool.  It'll take a couple of days to get the suspension dailed in but first day out on it yesterday felt brilliant.

Totally agree mate. I had to get a mate round and he pulled the tyre tight at one end whilst i stuffed the bead in working around the rim.. keeps popping back out though so you really do have too have it vert taught as you go around. There's probably a nack to it... i just don't know about it yet! 

Those were Vittoria's by the way ( mezcal ). Yes, it must be easier with a compressor.. I've read you can't do it with a track pump, but obviously you can as i did. Unless i just fluked it!!

Tighter the fit the easier they are to inflate, bit of soapy water helps or spit if you have enough. Lol. 

A lad we go out with put a new minion on the night before we went out, pulls the bike outta the van and says he can't wait to try it out, ive never seen a worse buckle in a wheel lol. Says aye it might have been a bit tight to get on. Lol. He must of been jumping on it. Lol.

Yes, have a bash at it mate and let us know how you get on..

I'm assuming your rims are tubeless ready/ compatible?? Just thought I'd mention...?

I've no idea about those sort of bikes mate... i don't even know much about mountain bikes!?

I always use a compressor when first fitting tubeless tyres to get them sealed on the beads.Never had any luck getting them to seal using a stirrup pump or co2.

Bought some the other day , thats what made me think about going tubeless ?

well finally got a new bike on order.will pick it up next weekend hopefully.specialized rockhopper elite or expert whichever is the top model.looking forward to disc brakes,no more chain comming off when you change through the 27 gears now only 12.tubeless tyres basically all the developments in bikes since i bought the old one in 2004?

Chain don’t  come off mine anymore was 24 speed ?
