If you were just out for a paddle they would handle a lot of conditions very well, and are unsinkable as long as they arent damaged... For fishing it wouldnt be much fun in a big sea, launching and landing can be fun in bigger waves (I've lost a bit of tackle and a mobile to mistimed landings!!)
