How consistent are you? What's your ratio hits to misses?

Recommended Posts

I've shot catapults for ages, never been particularly good but racked up a few kills over the years. Over the last month or so I've been doing a bit more and trying a ttf frame.

I shoot ok, hitting spinners etc and was practicing fairly regular but i do seem to have a fair few random shots.

The lads on here that are good, are you hitting most things you shoot at or do you just shoot at a lot of quarry and miss until you hit one? What's your shot to kill ratio?

Since I've tried aiming rather than instinctive I was expecting more accuracy but I'm still getting unexplained flyers.

Any thoughts?

As Jim says it’s good days and bad days... I was out one morning last week and hit 4 squirrels, two woodys and something I’d rather not say ? and this morning  I missed 3 squirrels, Two woodys and rabbit.

Obviously you get good and bad days but id say im just as good hunting wise with catty as i am an air rifle.

You're a f**k site better than me then! What kind of ranges are we talking?

Some days I'm shooting and killing stuff or hitting a spinner time after time and then randomly it all goes awry for a bit. It must be me but it feels like my form is exactly the same all the time so I front know how to fix it.

Yeah dont get me wrong i have days where im proper shit and just put it away for a week. Sometimes you can shoot too much and get bad habits theres allsorts really. I find couple shots a day keeps ya sharp but dont over do it. Im good enough that if i take the catapult with getting the ferrets sommat in mind its not very often i blank ya know.

I can use a fork for months then suddenly start missing with it, pick up something different and I’m back hitting stuff again it’s strange and no real rhyme or reason to it, been out having a play on the old starship this morning and doing pretty well with that considering I haven’t used one in ages,  might take a spin around the lanes a bit later see what’s about for a drive by ?

Im awful , haven't knocked anything but haven't had a decent practice yet , might have another crack later, but I'd starve if it was my food source lol.

Just get a big bit of cardboard  with a target in the middle so you can see were your missed  shots are landing as well as your hits, start about 10ft away and begin if you are consistently missing but grouping well you need to move your anchor point and if your missing like a shotgun you need to find your anchor and aim points as you improve get further away from your target and always remember that the lads lighting match,s and hitting the dicks off gnats at half a mile all have the power of editing, they to are human and miss as well but just don’t show you ??
