They were introduced towards the end of the nineteenth century. I knew they were introduced, I just googled when , I’m not that clever . We have a lot locally, and I love them . They are the best fox alarm. If Charlie is about the go apeshit , and mob it . Having said that I’m familiar with them , I’ve no idea what they eat , I’m not a twitcher , I see them , smile and get on with my day , I’ve not got the time or inclination to spend hours observing them . Why don't you ask them where that fox is laid up 4 Quote Link to post

Id like to know where that leuchistic badger is though ,space on the wall Even the RSPB website states they eat small mammals, birds, beetles and worms. I often see them too usually on the ground worming. Quote Link to post

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Yes mate I’d say they do .Years ago I felled a rotten tree whilst fencing and it had 3 little owl chicks in a hole unknown to us .Reared all 3 and hacked them back at our house .One evening bit later ,there was hell of a commotion and one of the supposed reared little owls had a starling broad daylight on our roof .Wish I’d kept that one lol. I caught one while back by hand on a fence post at night ,just walked up to it .Starving it was .Son in law got him right and he sees what he thinks is same bird regular near his house . Did see a sparrow hawk kill one once years ago when out hawking with a mate . 5 Quote Link to post
Sausagedog 7,381
Maybe cwis will be campaigning for their demise soon then! Oh how selfrightousnes, bigotry and egotism makes fools of us Quote Link to post
shovel leaner 7,650
If anyone can be bothered, have a look at the Wild justice Twitter page and Mark Averys site . Read how they won a massive victory that will halt shooting over “vast swathes “ of the countryside . They have actually achieved nothing! They are literally lying. And all of their birding bum chums are applauding how wonderful it is and how wonderful Packem, Avery and the dwarf are . Good grief , I think they might actually believe their own lies . I wonder if they will write a retraction and admit they were A. Lying , or B. Didn’t understand the Defra response. Maybe they are going to see all of us release our birds in July and August and say “hey , you need a licence “. To which we can all say “Sit on it “. 1 Quote Link to post
