Usually around £250/T been quoted almost £1k/T this year!! Cheaper to buy silage in The price of everything is getting ridiculous, last season I paid £200 a ton for feed wheat and used 6 ton plus 2 ton of pellets, this year I’ve been told if I’m lucky it will be £250, I’ve been told that the poults will be £4 each this year, up 40p a bird and that’s if we can get them because of this bloody bird flu, people are already cancelling partridge days, the only thing that hasn’t gone up is the land rent and that’s only because it’s privately owned, there’s no such thing as a cheap farm syndicate anymore, the whole thing is knackered, it’s going to get too a point where the members of my syndicate will have to make a decision, do they want to pay a £1000 a gun for 8 days or let 2 days when the shooting is good to cover the extra costs and they pay between £500 and £600 for 6 days, when I joined this shoot it worked out about £35 a day and there was always money left in the pot at the end of the season 3 Quote Link to post

In our local pasty shops, and shops that sell pasties, garages etc. medium here is £3.40, large £4.20. and that's 3 miles from the bakery for most of them. Cheers, D. 1 Quote Link to post

Cheers, D. Well, mine was a large and it was very delicious. Just thought £3:50 was a bit steep, but a sign of the times I’m thinking? Quote Link to post

Trick is to know where you can get a good one for £3. I'm turning Cornish Cheers, D. 1 2 Quote Link to post

FOXHUNTER 5,021
Popped out with my mate last night to see if we could catch up with a hen killer. New permission which we looked at last week with no foxes seen but a few rabbits. Therefore I took my .22 as well to try out the new Hawke scope. The rabbits were very lamp shy compared to last week so I think the lurcher boys had been out. Shot a few rabbits but no sign of the fox until we got back to the farm and there it was trotting through the farm yard 6 Quote Link to post
Sausagedog 7,381
Well I was out before light and I saw three foxes, one was slinky, just a shape running across a field. Then I saw another in the same area. Then a couple of miles away one stepped out on me but I failed to get it with the Franchi. If I had not stopped to pee I would of been much closer . I was good though, the hares behaviour told me something was going on. Then there was the jackdaws mobbing it in the next field all giving me clues. It was a grand morning to be out. 4 Quote Link to post
