Stavross 15,386
Feeding this morning, pre shoot day, when I set off it was cold but clear, by the time I’d got on the top there was between 3 and 4 inches of snow, first port of call was the farm to load the quad with wheat and off to the forestry pen, that’s where the problems started. On getting to the pen there wasn’t a bird to be seen, so I walked around the back of the pen as I could hear a bird taking flight and going mental, where I was greeted with a black spaniel running riot, now I know that this little tw*t belongs to a lass that works for forestry, so off I went to find her as this is not the first time this has happened, when I explained to her ( for the second time) that her dog was running riot and I’m not having it, she looks at me like I was in the wrong and basically said it’s not doing any harm, now I don’t think she realised that I know her boss, so a quick phone call and that’s her sorted, now off around the rest, plenty of birds around Gordon’s pen and over the piggeries, with snow on the ground it makes it easier to see what’s about and the amount of deer slots tells me they are there in some numbers, I also found some large fox prints over the piggeries, so although not being much of a problem this time of year at least I know where to go looking for it. Fingers crossed for good day tomorrow, this time of year I’d been very happy with a 40 bird day,but that comes down to the guns, I’ve done my job and the birds are there 9 Quote Link to post

Stavross 15,386
Well to be fair that first drive was very good, not a massive amount of birds downed but a hell of a lot of birds came out and a hell of a lot of shots 4 Quote Link to post
