It’s been frosty the last couple of mornings, it’s very welcome , hopefully it will kill a few bugs . Unfortunately the Maize and cover crops don’t like it and they will soon be unviable as a drive .

On another note, I popped into the gun shop on the way home, 100 .17hmr, 100 .22 and 20 fox rounds for the .243, I almost fell over when he said 79 quid, we settled on £70 but still, at that price I better not miss ☹️

How much are the cci’s Stavross? I used to use them a lot, but haven’t bought any for years for some reason. I think ? I might pick some up when I’ve used my eley subs up, they used to be good and reasonably priced as well.

Was going to venture out last night on the foxes but felt tired and couldn't face the 120 mile round trip so change of plan and went bunny bashing. On my way there noticed the 3/4 moon was very bright ? never mind glad of a walk out. Bunnies are getting a bit spooky now but some still sat obligingly.  Canny night with some bonus longtails..?

Beautiful deer expanding their range , which county may I ask ?

North staffs.

More good news.

Bunny hugger neighbors on one side have gone. New neighbors want to rip out the trees on our fence and squirrels and crows sorted by yours truly ?

Today can't get any better!

You had a better night than me, got up the shoot and waited 10 minutes for Hugo’s dad to turn up, he has served his centrefire ban so I decided to let him shoot, we headed over the far side setting the caller away with pheasant distress, 10 minutes in and a fox was seen crossing the field at a little under 200 yards I lit it up, he then said turn the light off, which I did and said what’s up, he said, I’ll try and get it closer. No chance it was trotting off across the field, I lit it up again but by this time it had reached the hedge back and slipped through never to be seen again ? we moved on to the bottom of the field at the back of the farm as soon as we entered the field he ran his thermal around and immediately started panicking rattling his chopstick shooting sticks about, l looked through the nv spotter and seen a fox very close and coming towards us quickly, I said are you ready and he said yes, as I lit it up it was no more than 20 yards away and ran full pelt up the field, I can’t blame him for this one as we bumped it heading to where we were going to call, I think I’ll have to have a trip up there on my own. One thing that I’ve noticed over the past month or so is every fox I’ve shot up there has come from next doors shoot, so it would appear that their keeper is sh*t at his job, which is good because I don’t like him and have had a couple of run ins with him last year, with a bit of luck he’ll get the boot

Say Stav, don't start me off on bad keepers! If ever you need a good excuse find a bad keeper, they know every excuse known to man!
