No it shouldn't, every person who died on the battlefield has my respect.

It's sad looking back in history with all the lives lost during the war and the aftermath of all that effort for freedom. What a change and shock it must be for those that survived and seeing the country today.

Betrayed mate.......there’s no other way to describe it.

Seeing as we held sway over 412 Million people at the time I’m sure there was more than a few colonials fighting.

My point is, why do we need reminded all the time.

Watch any film from the time and you can clearly see these tiny isles managed to endure the biggest conflagration in the history of man kind and walk out the other side victorious and civilised with absolutely zero input from these people in our society........fast forward 75 years and we are in shit order.......and there’s a massive common denominator.

I don’t think anyone can seriously argue that these people have improved and enriched our native British society and how we behave in that space of time......quiet the opposite in fact.

Hence, why do we need to keep being told what a “great” contribution they made ?

They fought in the war, bravely, millions of men did.......and ?

"and" id never question the merit of anybody, black, white, yellow or purple, that fought so that pricks now can enjoy the luxury of owning an opinion and posting verbal bile.

An hour ago I was “spewing bile” and now your Tom Metzger........make your f***ing mind up.

If people “recognised what others gave for them” they wouldn’t have betrayed them and squandered it away !

The only person that has mentioned hating anyone is you, in case you hadn’t noticed ;)

You seem very confused, go away and have a think about where you do stand on things then make comment, probably be better.

My wife’s grandad, in the left ,   he was a desert rat , and fought all the way through North Africa .

Came home and moved on with his life .

I was always told my grandad was a desert rat (he died when i was a baby), ive been doing my family tree & his self and his ancestors are the main ones I dont have much info on.

Was the desert rats just the The 7th Armoured Division? As I found someone with my grandads name enlisted in the Queen's Royal, I cant say it is my grandad though as my dad died a few weeks ago, & no one else around in that side of the fam.

I remember seeing medals & my dear aul Nan telling me they were my grandads. Would be nice to find a bit more info.

Exactly, they should all be remembered equally. And that goes for them who lost the wars.

Forgive my ignorance but why would you want to " remember " people that were trying to kill your dad/grandad/countrymen ?

Is it one of them clap both teams off at the end of a game kind of things ?
