w1ld1ng 5
As daft as it sounds, when I pull the trigger the gun alot of the time seems to pull to the right. I've only noticed this since I have been recording my shooting. I'm presuming its my technique which I'll work on. Never seem to do when target shooting but when hunting. Only thing I can of is its the urgency of pulling the trigger while the rats are in the sights. This happen to anyone else? 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,003
Yes, I think you have hit the nail on the head as there is a possibility that you are snatching at the trigger instead of a gentle squeeze. I have done it many times and had to correct myself. As you say , technique is the key. Phil 1 Quote Link to post

Jonjon79 13,358
What rifle are you using? Are you pulling the back of your rifle to the right so that your shots are impacting to the left of your target? Quote Link to post
ArchieHood 3,692
Shoot it upside down and see if it pulls to the left...... 4 Quote Link to post

philpot 5,003
The RM8 is a big lump of a gun and known to be front end heavy so perhaps you are getting some movement out in the field due to weight. Phil 1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
You are getting a bit of what the old African game hunters call "Buck Fever" . The surge of sudden excitement when your target suddenly appears You have to train and discipline yourself to relax your impulse to pull the trigger by not jumping to shoot, as instantly you see something. Be patient. Let the animal settle down and relax its guard caution before it starts to eat. Keep off the trigger as it starts to feed. It will pop it's head up to chew a mouthful while having a listen and sniff for a possible enemy predator. That's the time to put the shot together. You have more time to make a well-composed shot than you might realise. A nicely relaxed hold and gently pressed trigger is what puts the meat in the bag. All the best. Simon. 4 Quote Link to post
