Butchers block

Picked this up on a job today. Lots of open cracks in it. Figured something can be done with it

If im not wrong thats a butchers block from Smithfield Meat Market my ol fella could well have done a few bits on that years ago

Do you want to keep it as a butchers block or use it as a table ?.......if it’s the latter I have seen some tidy things done with clear resin to level the surface

Had a Saturday job in a butchers, used to scrub them blocks, used to think I was Rocky in the chiller with a hind 1/4. Anyone speak the aul butchers backslang? Learnt it from my aul fella who was from a family of butchers.

I was going to suggest flipping the block over but it looks like that's already been done? Can you not buy replacement tops for them?

Might have to take a look at that. I want a butchers block but I really think this is past its best, the photos don't show how bad it really is.
