But who knows, fishing maybe but then canals will be rammed with walkers and bikes dogs etc social distance is tricky too. But again we all know places we can fish perfectly safe from close contact. Trust me we are praying in our club for the fishing to be relaxed

Yes a pandemic begins as an epidemic which has spread across all countries and borders. If it was an 'Actual Pandemic' with the severity of which we are being told, why would we now be lifting lockdown at all or certainly not as soon as we are? Or does that just make sense now to us all.

Severity doesn't factor into the technical definition of pandemic status. Why would they begin to lift it... Heaps of reasons, for starters we are now in a position of stability for our national epidemic, we are better prepared to implement and experiment with more intelligent and targeted countermeasures than a 'dumb' but effective lockdown. The government has always doubted how effectively they could keep the British public in lockdown and so have to consider the psychological factors i.e. weaker rules that are followed are better than stronger rules that are ignored. Then of course there is the economic aspect, lives are and always have had a £££ value, it's naive and idealistic for someone to say otherwise.

A total guess but maybe it's because you are static. So if the wind is blowing from one peg to the next, the downwind peg will be exposed for hours to another persons respiratory droplets which increases the chance of transmission. The 2m rule was probably considered acceptable for dynamic environments (where people are passing each other, not sat still) as you are only exposed for a moment. That's the thing with all these precautions, they just mitigate risk, they don't eliminate it and they're as simple as possible because people won't understand or accept them if they fully explained the science.

Have you not figured it out yet ?.......it’s because they have pissed away the cold fortune you paid in, took out loans the size of which your average bloke can’t even write down in numbers on a bit of paper and now they can’t afford for you to stay home, be safe and look after you. So it’s everyone back to work, start coining your money in again and cross the old fingers that not too many tens of thousands die. From what I see of the whole operation the last few years, it really is as simple as that.
