Gav 1,708
Contemplated this for a while, and have the market here, but what hoops do I have to jump/prove! Mate here runs it from his house, all but retired, and says go for it with his blessing. is it worth the hassle. Cheers guys, be gentle Edited April 30, 2020 by Gav Quote Link to post
lllluke1 329
I know a local RFD you runs his shop from his house. He told me he had to have the ceiling reinforced because he used a downstairs room and his house alarm wired to the nearest police station. (the nearest police station manned 24hrs is about 20 miles away). But I don't know how true this is or if he was just laying it on, could be bullshit 1 Quote Link to post

Sausagedog 7,381
My only concern is if you get an argumentative fool turn up and starts to argue with you over something stupid! Your gonna have to fit a booth or something that you can lock them in for an hour mate until you or them have calmed down some. Straitening a barrel from around someone's neck is a real pain of a job I can tell ya! Go for it mate . They will advise you and up there they may just ask you to fit a lock on the front door! 2 Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
There used to be a guy in the next county who ran his from a fortified garden office. Steel doors and lots of alarms and, I guess, something solid in the walls. He was appointment only, I only met him as a gun I bought was being stored there. Quote Link to post
Sausagedog 7,381
My old mate Steve Jones of Trent Firearms died several months ago. He was an RFD and operated from his converted garage. Spent many a late hour with him until his Mrs would moan at him bless her. It was an Aladdin's cave for reloaders and rifle shooters. Didn't do shotguns. He would save many a hand in for me to err dispose of safely. Honest straight talking man, sometimes to rightous but I respected him. Quote Link to post
shovel leaner 7,650
A mate of mine( Blane Boon , yes his real name)is a gun Smith . He operates out of a garage /workshop in his garden . It’s got a steel door and bars on the windows and is alarmed. Being a RFD means he can be a useful contact when I have used the RFD to RFD postal service, for which he can charge people . He has also disposed of guns and sound moderators . I would say that it is probably worth doing if you are the only one locally. 1 Quote Link to post
