I’d deffo go Subaru. We used to put both these cars through there paces week in week out and for me the Subaru a much better drive and handling and like others say a lot less will go wrong with the Subaru as long as it’s not a nacker from the start although if it was to take on a track I’d go evo as you would have more fun. My mates got a lotus Colton which he brought 20 years ago it’s now worth 80-100 grand. Think he payed around the 10 grand mark for it

They were the ultimate sleeper, a monster car, a fair step up from a cavalier turbo or a calibra turbo

In 2008 I was offered a uk mk4 supra twin turbo manual for £6000, a r32 gtr for £6500, Toyota celica gt4 st205 and a Sierra sapphire cosworth for £3000 and because I couldn’t get insured I turned them down and got a Land Rover, to say I’m kicking myself is an understatement.

Me an my brother in law have had conversations about cars were both car guys what we’ve had an what was about when we were younger an the price of them then to know he’s runs a business for cars for movies he’s not normally in to restoration on cars he hires cars for movies he has contracts for I said to him wouldn’t it be a idea to start saving some of these old uns an restoring them instead of hiring them an eating in to profits he does keep a lot of 60s,70,80,90s cars in secured barns he owns but there all just untouched std base model cars for films that are as they are he has over 40 cars last count I said because he’s got the cash an means to play about an restore a few more of the hotter models of cars it’d be a worthwhile investment as price’s are going up he’s successfuly in the last 2yrs done 3 cars

Yes mate it’s a beast to be honest and my mate who owns can put any car to its limits. He actually prefers back wheel drive  cars. Well he used to anyway when he was younger. I used to love a good cavalier turbo though. Do you remember the old cavalier Sri 130. They could move or they seemed like they did ha

Yes the mk1 Sri 130 came 2tones like blue over black and red over black, stepped up a bit in the mk2 with the gsi 2000, fast motors in their day and they were hell of a lot lighter aswell

Yes mate we’re great little things exactly like go carts. Lethal in the wet as if the front end goes so does the back haha: My favourite car out the lot for looks even though obviously older than the ones we talking about has to be the evo 6. Another lad I know has a tommy makkinen addition and I’m sure that’s got to be worth a few quid now aswel. Not sure what he paid either

Gt turbo with adjustable boost you could park it outside pub have a couple of beers come out and the fan would still be running.

Uno turbo was a quick one as well

I was in a ibiza tfsi the 1.4 twin charged 200bhp I was very impressed with the power in that we engine it went like rocket. I rekon those with the fiat 500 abarth and punto gt turbo Abarth are future collectibles

The 6 was my favourite along with the 4, the tommy edition I think came with the forged engine they are worth a mini fortune these days. The equivalent Subaru is the 22b and ya couldn’t buy one either

That’s some collection the merc has the wrong engine from cosworth, it lacked and needed the yb engine they done for ford, that would have blew the doors off the m3 of the same time
