Anyone Cast their own weights ?

Recommended Posts

When I was in a sea fishing club we used to meet up once a year to have a BBQ and melt down. I knew a bus dismantler and got some long chrome tubular handles that were sawn up into one foot lengths and squashed down at one end. We would fill them 3/4 full with molten lead then once they had cooled squash the other end and drill holes in for the split rings. We made and lost hundreds over the years. But they only cost us the price of two split rings and a big hook so we couldn't complain.
