I knew a bus dismantler and got some long chrome tubular handles that were sawn up into one foot lengths and squashed down at one end. We would fill them 3/4 full with molten lead then once they had cooled squash the other end and drill holes in for the split rings. We made and lost hundreds over the years. But they only cost us the price of two split rings and a big hook so we couldn't complain. 1 Quote Link to post
Robbusher 1,563 Posted April 27, 2020 Report Share Posted April 27, 2020 (edited) My old man has molds for lots of sizes of lead fishing weights (car boot buy from years ago) from quarter ounce to to sea fishing ones with wire prongs that dig into sand to anchor to bottom don’t think I’ve had to buy any from a shop ever I collect little scraps of lead off scaffold and take all the bits to him he has a little pile of scrap lead In garden he even has a moldfor 28g lures some he leaves plain and some he paints up then sprays lacker on them to they don’t lose there shine Edited April 28, 2020 by Robbusher Adding picture 2 Quote Link to post
