I usually start seeing them first week in May as a rule . You can’t really tell from this as it’s a shot of a vid I filmed last night.. was just getting dark and 280 yard away with the pard.. but that’s mum and 7 cubs were running about, ive been watching them 3 weeks now, I saw a badger go in the den the other week and what a racket.. thought they’d all be dead but billy must of got his arse kicked.. they’ve Relocated to a new den about 130 yrd further up the hedge line and Billy’s no longer about 1 Quote Link to post

Last year north of the town a farmer thought it would be a good idea to put a myxy rabbit or two down to clear rabbits. Well the number of lambs that all the farmers lost was phenomenal. The foxes had to feed cubs and due to no rabbits the next best thing was lambs. 2 Quote Link to post

A lot of other folk let them be for a bit. Never really got that wirh the air rifle gang, never see much from them in winter but soon as the suns out it’s always lines of wee baby bunnies that have been flattened...... 2 Quote Link to post
Stavross 16,510
Back at the small holding and fingers crossed for a better evening, I’ve decided to try the back field first with the caller, if I have no success here I’ll wait until dark and head closer to the house, hopefully something will show up 6 Quote Link to post
Stavross 16,510
3 hours sat in a field and it paid off, not the biggest dog but it’s been chewing its way through a few chickens, no sign of any others but I’ve no doubt I’ll be back in the future Edited April 25, 2020 by Stavross 2 Quote Link to post

ianm 2,594
Well done! I have had a call from someone i shoot foxes for regularly. Apparently one of his neighbours has had a lamb killed in a building and the lamb was seven or eight weeks old. So i am thinking big dog fox feeding vixen and cubs. 1 1 Quote Link to post

That needs killing, I’m with you that sounds like a large dog, an 8 week old lamb is a big animal for a fox to take, I suppose been in a building it could of cornered it don't know why I couldn’t upload the picture direct from my phone 4 Quote Link to post

If he,s raiding barns might be a candidate for a close up with a shotgun ,if he,s not afraid to come indoors for his meal or a go with the distressed lamb call before he gets there .Good luck he,s a definate candidate for the muck pile 2 Quote Link to post
