Has anyone seen any cubs on top yet , cos I haven’t yet . I usually start seeing them first week in May as a rule .

You can’t really tell from this as it’s a shot of a vid I filmed last night.. was just getting dark and 280 yard away with the pard.. but that’s mum and 7 cubs were running about, ive been watching them 3 weeks now, I saw a badger go in the den the other week and what a racket.. thought they’d all be dead but billy must of got his arse kicked.. they’ve Relocated to a new den about 130 yrd further up the hedge line and Billy’s no longer about

Like many others I’ve been stuck in for the past 6 weeks, today I received a phone call from someone I didn’t know saying I’ve been speaking to someone and they have told me you control foxes and went

Bet you can't wait mate, bet you've been sat in the toilet with your 243 like⬇️ ???

Been out again last night with another 3 foxes accounted for. Farmer was right he’s been seeing a few around 6 foxes in 2 outings happy with that.  And farmer seems happy ?

The lad I know that shoots in York told me that for every fox he shoots on the chicken farm he will shoot 6 on the pig farm, he said it’s not uncommon to see between 4 and 6 in the same field, I’ve only been there once with him about 6 or 7 years ago and we seen 5 and shot 4 of them and he said that was an average, the places I shoot ( even the sheep farm ) if you get a couple you have had a cracking night

this place doesn't hold big numbers, you'll have a flurry mid summer but its basically the cubs then just randoms after that!

think there just after easy meals with having mouths to feed cos the majority of foxes taken on there are on the back fields taking rabbits and ground game..

saw more foxes on the chicken farm this winter when out for the early goose fights than the pig farms but theres shoots all round where I live so I dont know why they bother with the chickens and its well secure, unless one makes it over the fence theres no way a fox is getting in.

If they have a taste for bacon and are taking out 50 porkers then death is the only option, that must be some cost to loose that amount of stock

I live on the edge of a village six miles south of a town. Last year north of the town a farmer thought it would be a good idea to put a myxy rabbit or two down to clear rabbits. Well the number of lambs that all the farmers lost was phenomenal. The foxes had to feed cubs and due to no rabbits the next best thing was lambs.

No one gets the violins out for a rabbit or a rat shot suckling young ?

No but to be honest it’s mostly the air gun super hero’s who shoot rabbits in the summer. A lot of other folk let them be for a bit. Never really got that wirh the air rifle gang, never see much from them in winter but soon as the suns out it’s always lines of wee baby bunnies that have been flattened......

Back at the small holding and fingers crossed for a better evening, I’ve decided to try the back field first with the caller, if I have no success here I’ll wait until dark and head closer to the house, hopefully something will show up ?

3 hours sat in a field and it paid off, not the biggest dog but it’s been chewing its way through a few chickens, no sign of any others but I’ve no doubt I’ll be back in the future ?

Well done! I have had a call from someone i shoot foxes for regularly. Apparently one of his neighbours has had a lamb killed in a building and the lamb was seven or eight weeks old. So i am thinking big dog fox feeding vixen and cubs.

That needs killing, I’m with you that sounds like a large dog, an 8 week old lamb is a big animal for a fox to take, I suppose been in a building it could of cornered it

don't know why I couldn’t upload the picture direct from my phone

If he,s raiding barns might be a candidate for a close up with a shotgun ,if he,s not afraid to come indoors for his meal or a go with the distressed lamb call before he gets there .Good luck he,s a definate candidate for the muck pile
