Paid pest control

That didn’t work out quite as I was expecting it to, after I lost the light I put the rabbit distress call on and stayed sat in the corner of a small field, after 15 minutes or so I spotted one the other side of the hedge in next doors field, it was trotting in towards the call, all I needed it to do was come my side of the hedge, then it just disappeared, no idea where it went, I gave it another 40 minutes and called it a night, as I walked back into the yard I looked through the NV mainly to look up the long drive and 20 yards in front of me was another with the house as a backstop. I tried a few squeaks but nothing, it just turned and walked around the side of the house, so everyday is a school day and I now know the lay of the land and the cat food will be getting an outing to draw them in ?

Gives you an excuse to get back out for another look. At least you know there is a few about. I'm sure your perseverance will pay off, then the person your doing it will have to pay up?

Bet it felt good to be out again?

Got a couple of rabbits in the freezer if you want them?

Like many others I’ve been stuck in for the past 6 weeks, today I received a phone call from someone I didn’t know saying I’ve been speaking to someone and they have told me you control foxes and went

Bet you can't wait mate, bet you've been sat in the toilet with your 243 like⬇️ ???

Been out again last night with another 3 foxes accounted for. Farmer was right he’s been seeing a few around 6 foxes in 2 outings happy with that.  And farmer seems happy ?

Just keep going back and be persistent. Sounds like a good bit of permission, I’ve never taken any money for fox shooting other than bottles of booze and eggs . Someone will come along and do it for free otherwise, and there is your permission gone . I didn’t know but I unwittingly did this to a paid pest controller, who was a mate . I bumped into him and he seemed a bit offish with me . “Everything alright “? “ Well no not really “, and he explained how he had been paid to control the foxes on a farm and that I was now doing it for free . I explained that I had no idea that It was his gig and I’d just been contacted and asked to sort out some foxes and I’d gone and done it . He is still a bit salty to this day so “f@@k him “.

Hopefully you will deal with the cubs afterwards mate as too many callous c**t s about as it is .

If you are referring to the dog and vixen I shot last night in my post in corona foxes , I’m putting some traps on the earth now , I’ll let you know how I get on . Looks busy , flies everywhere and flattened vegetation.

This Dog fox was taken first light sat morning!

got a call that had followed on from a call at the beginning of lockdown sayin stay away don’t want anyone on.... 50 piglets went missing last week so one down and back again tomorrow!

its an 800 acre site and we’re sure there holed up over the railway line  that’s not ours and belongs to a hunt so bar a taking them on his land we have no choice.

got cubs on a couple of other places at the moment and if these ones are at the same stage I’d say there’s a good chance they will survive as there quite well on

Has anyone seen any cubs on top yet , cos I haven’t yet . I usually start seeing them first week in May as a rule .

I was out for a walk this morning at 6am I spotted a vixen and 3 Cubs play fighting on the edge of some gorse,  unfortunately not on my ground but phoned the guy who shoots that bit. He hadn't had any reports from farmer that they are a problem so will leave them for now ?

I’ve not seen any around here yet ( saying that I haven’t been out the bloody house for weeks so I wouldn’t have) a lad I know in York has cleared a full family out of a pig farm but he said they  were no more than a few days above ground

If they have a taste for bacon and are taking out 50 porkers then death is the only option, that must be some cost to loose that amount of stock

I was thinking the same . That’s a lot of lost income . I’ve never shot on a free range pork farm , but I’ve heard tell that foxes can hunt in packs on them and do serious damage.

The lad I know that shoots in York told me that for every fox he shoots on the chicken farm he will shoot 6 on the pig farm, he said it’s not uncommon to see between 4 and 6 in the same field, I’ve only been there once with him about 6 or 7 years ago and we seen 5 and shot 4 of them and he said that was an average, the places I shoot ( even the sheep farm ) if you get a couple you have had a cracking night
