I tried a few squeaks but nothing, it just turned and walked around the side of the house, so everyday is a school day and I now know the lay of the land and the cat food will be getting an outing to draw them in Gives you an excuse to get back out for another look. At least you know there is a few about. I'm sure your perseverance will pay off, then the person your doing it will have to pay up Bet it felt good to be out again? Got a couple of rabbits in the freezer if you want them? Edited April 22, 2020 by Longshanx 1 Quote Link to post

Sounds like a good bit of permission, I’ve never taken any money for fox shooting other than bottles of booze and eggs . Someone will come along and do it for free otherwise, and there is your permission gone . I didn’t know but I unwittingly did this to a paid pest controller, who was a mate . I bumped into him and he seemed a bit offish with me . “Everything alright “? “ Well no not really “, and he explained how he had been paid to control the foxes on a farm and that I was now doing it for free . I explained that I had no idea that It was his gig and I’d just been contacted and asked to sort out some foxes and I’d gone and done it . He is still a bit salty to this day so “f@@k him “. 2 2 Quote Link to post

Looks busy , flies everywhere and flattened vegetation. 3 1 Quote Link to post

I was out for a walk this morning at 6am I spotted a vixen and 3 Cubs play fighting on the edge of some gorse, unfortunately not on my ground but phoned the guy who shoots that bit. He hadn't had any reports from farmer that they are a problem so will leave them for now 3 Quote Link to post

I’ve not seen any around here yet ( saying that I haven’t been out the bloody house for weeks so I wouldn’t have) a lad I know in York has cleared a full family out of a pig farm but he said they were no more than a few days above ground 1 Quote Link to post

That’s a lot of lost income . I’ve never shot on a free range pork farm , but I’ve heard tell that foxes can hunt in packs on them and do serious damage. 1 Quote Link to post
Stavross 16,510
The lad I know that shoots in York told me that for every fox he shoots on the chicken farm he will shoot 6 on the pig farm, he said it’s not uncommon to see between 4 and 6 in the same field, I’ve only been there once with him about 6 or 7 years ago and we seen 5 and shot 4 of them and he said that was an average, the places I shoot ( even the sheep farm ) if you get a couple you have had a cracking night 1 Quote Link to post
