Another day of rest

Strimming and thinning, and building up existing and new habitat piles

Got to keep at it Mel, trying to make the most of the daylight hours getting as much thinning done as possible, get some suitable spacing between these conifers

No I don't shoot the deer, I haven't got a FAC, but have been looking into DSC1 etc recently, do you shoot them in your place?

Unfortunately we don't have any deer at my place .  A red was spotted about five years ago just down the road , and a few munties are being caught by the local keepers , when they catch the birds at the end of the season,  so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I start seeing them sooner or later. All of my deer shooting is done on my other shooting permissions.

We made a few paths through our woodland at the end of the pheasant season , and a small flat camping area . At the end of the coming pheasant season , I'm hoping to treble the size of the camping area , and make another path of about 400 yards , and build a meditation platform,  that overlooks a waterfall.

My back is aching just thinking about it 😄.

I've spent the last two weekends trying to nail a few squirrels,  before they eat all the hazelnuts.  It was a bumper harvest last year , and it looks like this year might be quite good as well.

The calm after the storm, before the storm :hmm:

Few hours on the saw, opening up another ride, and building up a bit of winter habitat, few new spots for the woodcock to get tucked in, and got a few hedge sparrows making use of the dead hedges
