Re-Introducing Hobbs

Recommended Posts

Got a really stupid problem that I was hoping someone might be able to help with.

Have 3 Hobbs at the moment, 2 of which have always been together and one lives alone since his pal died at the start of the year.

Like a total berk, I left the hutch open for the pair and one hobb went missing for about 48 hours.

When we got him back (neighbour found him) I stuck him back with his mate and they started fighting pretty badly. We took the wanderer out and out him separate for the big but with plenty food and water to recover. Tried them back together in a stable, plenty of space this lunch time and they ended up fighting again, pretty badly. Ended up with the wanderer getting pines by the neck and I pulled them apart.

Question is - is there any chance that we might be able to house them as a pair again. Will be a pain if we can’t because that would be 3 ferrets in 3 hutches and id not fancy putting them down the same warren.

Any help / thoughts welcome good or bad.

thanks

Dan

Your lucky if you can ever keep entire hobs together during spring/summer time, I have kept ferrets for 30 years and always have to separate my hobs or they pull chunks off each other. You will either need to keep them separate or castrate them as Neil says above.
