Hey

I would use dead bait suspended from a float. A mackerel tail would be best, however if you can get your hands on some stinking cooking oil from a chip shop, inject it with a syringe into the mackerel. If you could find a good pike lake try to fish near a weeded area, although not many weeds this time of year.

After about an hour if you have a second pike outfit, try using some pike spinners around your bait and even near the bottom. Some people also use pike plugs and retrieve them in a zig zag fashion.

Hope this helps

i had a few pike today , Nothing massive just jacks , they were all on lures . I am a fan of the storm range . Very life like and move well in the water . If you dont fancy lures try float fishing baits high up in the water ive had a lot of success with this method even better if you are allowed to livebait . Get the kit to make your own traces up it will cost you about £20 all in and will save you a lot of cash and let you knock up some nice set ups .
