Its a terrier,as with other terriers they will seldom catch in cover and catch even less on a leg chase.

I only have real experience of 4 Bedlingtons  so by no means an expert but as no one else has answered here's my view.

3 of them were KC registered. They looked as though they should be fast enough to catch a rabbit in the open but were no where near. At best no quicker than the conventional working terriers that they were hunted with and often appeared to be slower. Speed is obviously not a  quality that a working terrier needs but the fact that they were slower than other types even though being taller and "racier" suggested to me that they were never trying properly.

The other 1 was Bedlington type with other blood added. Smaller and gamer, but again not fast enough to catch a rabbit in the open.
