So as I’m under house arrest I’ve been flicking through some old and not so old pictures I have saved, trying to remember what normal life is like and I thought I’d start a new topic and put a couple

got to agree with the goose shooting, there either way to high 60yrd to the left or right of you or ten foot above your head while you've got a cup of coffee in your hand? this was my first half

Pheasants like chickens like to scratch in the earth. The damp also softens the grain. I've seen fallow raiding hoppers but not fiddling in state so much.

Full time keepering means I am out twice a day feeding, morning and afternoon. If you have wheat on the ground that is going wet you’ve fed too much and wasted the wheat . I keep my birds a bit “sharp” , so they know that the food is there when they come down from roost and then for the second feed before they go to roost . All shoots are different and what suits some won’t suit others , because of the amount of time and effort involved. I do have some hoppers and minolas about and it’s these that tend to get targeted by the deer .

Sure. You got to meter it just right. We use to whistle them to and they would come running in but they probably missed a few days. Tell tale sign would be the ground worked over etc.

Another 3 foxes

first one is longshanx first fox with the .243, this one came charging in to the vixen in heat call, by the time he took the shot he could of kicked it in the face with them legs

the second one is Hugo’s dad, up at the sheep farm, this one came from nowhere, with the wind behind use blowing towards the fox he took the shot in a split second and to my amazement he dropped it

the third one is me up at the shoot, again with the vixen in heat call, I shot this customer running, it turned out to be a very big old dog
