Better times ?

Not the best day for me; hydrated lime in my eyes (bit sore) drive myself to a&e. Anyway, talking to nurse get onto sheep yadda yadda, then talk where we from, I said north Wales, her response "ahh so that explains the sheep thing"!!  Borderline racism within NHS?? ?

So as I’m under house arrest I’ve been flicking through some old and not so old pictures I have saved, trying to remember what normal life is like and I thought I’d start a new topic and put a couple

I’m laughing at the nurse response to where you are from, not the lime in your eyes ( I bet that bloody hurt) they know what you lot are like ??? love the NHS ?

Ah mate it was fecking bad, scary at first. Erratic bald welshman with no eyes driving landrover wasn't great either! Got three different types of eye drops.

Love the NHS ?

Likewise, I was in woodland this morning looking for pheasants nests & a muntie barked to tell everyone,  before legging it! One of them is yours still.

Here’s a picture I took of a shoot day I was invited on about 25 years ago . That’s my hat and old Baikal on the wall . It’s a shame but quite a few of those faces are no longer with us .
The pigeons were shot when I was recovering from a back operation over peas . I had to drag the dead birds back to my truck on my hands and knees, I was in agony . I got home and laid them all out for a picture, with my Mrs moaning about the mess the feathers made . I sent this picture into The sporting gun magazine in the hope of winning a copy of “Red letter days” by Jim Albone , remember him anyone ?

I’ve ran out of thumbs up ? today, but them last two pictures definitely deserve them, as I’ve said before I’m a bit obsessed with muntjac, Chinese water deer also interest me a lot, I think it’s because I’ve never seen one and they are a strange looking beast, I love the old shoot photos, game shooting for me is all about making quality memories with people of all ages and backgrounds ?

I never used to bother too much about photos, I was “live for today “ but looking back I wish I’d taken more . As you get older it’s nice to look back . It’s also a bit sad sometimes when I realise how many friends I’ve lost over the years , and quite a few well before their expiry date .

I’m the same, it’s only since I’ve had a camera on my phone that I take a lot of photos, I wish I had them from when I started out, I’ve been fortunate to meet some proper characters that I’ve leant a lot from, also like you a few of them are not with us any more, everything from suicide to old age, it goes to show you need to make the most of every day because you never know when it’s your time ?

Late July out on a fresh cut field, it was baking hot, we waited for them to finish the cut and it wasn’t long before we had a visitor, shot before we lost the light, a lovely way to spent an early summers evening ?
