Black Cat Traps

I've recently got hold of a Black Cat trap and was wondering if anyone else was using them?

If so, what are you baiting them with and how are you setting them up, as i can only find American info on ground squirrels?

They are starting to get popular over here lately. On donedeal for €12.50 i think. I didn't buy any as of yet, but had a look on some sites from India, where there going for three or four quid a pop. That's some difference compared to eBay etc, where they are twenty to thirty quid for one trap. 

 As reguards the trap. It looks a good design, where a clean kill can be achieved from the front and sides. The design of the trap stops rats from getting at the bait from the back which is a bonus. Bait wise, maybe something like dog nuts would work well. Think it needs to be something solid like that, that the rat has to pull at to set off the trap. Be good to here from those who have experience with the trap.

Just got one and set it in a loft yesterday. Used a sticky sweet as bait, something they have to pull at. 

Got it off a lad I was on course with last week and he had some decent catch photos.

Got one sent a few days ago. Haven’t set it yet, but was wondering if screwing it to a small board would be a good idea? It seems like it might be kind of awkward to handle when set?

Apple is the best bait with a bit of aniseed

licorice all sort also do well

these  are great traps
