Gav 1,708
I dug my stuff out and cast some lead in a c309-170f lee mould, sized and gas checked them for .308, sat now waiting for lube to dry. Anyway I don't know what load to charge these with as all I have now is reach compliant, so I turned to quickload to see if I can get a recipe for powder I have. I don't want to overpressure as I've not hardness tested the lead as yet. They came out with gas checks crimped at 179gn to 182 gn What do you think this looks like as a start out load? Sausagedog 7,381
It's good stuff by rights with nitro. If you stick to cast it costs the bore much like a 22 and helps to protect it from damp. Very underestimated for hunting with cast bullets are today. Quote Link to post
