There will be systems put in place to deal with it and everyone will get comfy again and 'look forward' to the same shit they did before. I honestly don't see anything changing.

Do you think people, the British people of all, are going to let fear rule them? We haven't even begun to seriously implement intelligent systems to deal with this yet, once we do what fear there is will evaporate. Of course some small things will change but no one is braking 'the wheel'.

I fear you are probably right mate, f**k me, rats have more intelligence :(

Tell you something, and it sounds a bit silly really, but I have been watching the hairy bikers this last week and they have been travelling through Eastern Europe.

Well, all I can say is, if that’s poor then Britain could do with being as poor as that.....it looked fantastic !
You can see they don’t have all the baubles and chattels of modern Britain and European “advanced” countries but by f**k they are culturally millionaires.

Their country’s ain’t all f****d up, they are letting us daft c**ts f**k our gaff up, earn the money and keep their place nice and just as it was by the look of it.

And who can blame them, if we don’t take that attitude then why shouldn’t they take advantage.

Been a bit eye opening really because the rhetoric is that these places are piss holes but they didn’t look like piss holes to me.

Anyone spent time in these places ?

Every one chilled out growing a bit of veg etc.

Today's pace of life is crazy.everyone rushing around like headless chickens.

Mackem would be the best bet on here to ask.he is THL globe trotter.

Ben fogle. Has done some good programmes on people escaping the rat race.to live a more simple life.

And some of them are living the dream..

Honestly, the mind boggles. So thousands aren't dying...........

You happy with this? Would you expect the media to call mismanagement to account? Or should we all just brush it under the carpet, after all what's a few thousand unnecessary death eh.

Of course im not happy....maybe i look at things too simplistically but to call anything " mismanagement " before its over to me is a little bit....well,if you,ll excuse my language.....cuntish really !......what sort of " manager " throws a hysterical tantrum when his team come in 2 nil down at half time.....to me a good manager sticks in and works out how to improve it......id judge how he did at the end of the game personally.

Who was it on here who built a house over one of those places? @Balaur comes to mind... :hmm:

I Think you are right mate.

I don’t know what happened in that particular situation but one thing I can say for sure is that the change away from modern Britain is massive and as much as you think you know what it’s going to be like.....you don’t !

It takes one hell of a lot of detox to live a simpler, older and more basic way of life......you don’t believe how conditioned you are but you are.

Its not for everyone and many struggle badly, I hit a blip myself at about 3 years but pushed through because what I though I missed was actually just a pile of shit.

Its not easy like

Mate, I don't have flash things or a flash lifestyle compared to the average Englishman. You don't have to convince me. LOL

'Wind the clocks back 50 years' is commonly said, right?............... try 50k years for me!

For me, it all comes down to too many people. The rest would fall into place.

Ah yep well I got sick of working away, missing out on kids , underestimated the timescale and cost to us as a family , I struggled with language and cultural aspects, there were lots of positives but also negatives, we built a house which is there now and my kids had a great time gardening and enjoying the outdoors. We spent about 2 years apart , we'd had enough and also couldn't see a future without me working away and the wife didn't have the support network we invisioned to allow her to work, there was still a lot to achieve on the property to make it comfortable. We decided to regroup and recoup in UK , spent months trying to find a property to rent that would accept pets in the end left dogs there temporarily flew family over and moved in only to discover the flight over made my son dizzy. Very long story short he had a brain tumor and received a life saving surgery in Bristol. That was all future decisions taken care of for us.

In truth Romania was an experience we enjoyed lots of aspects even doing the road trips with mates having friends over and sharing experiences there etc, it definitely made a few memories, given more time there I may have come to terms with the lingo, I learnt a lot about the place. Joined in with the local hunt here and there . Enjoyed the food and drink, did a bit of fishing , some of the scenery is amazing. Communism has definitely left its mark corruption is ridiculous and rife, their healthcare has collapsed now due to funding shortages and corruption. The education system is also poorly funded, I could go on and on with negatives but I won't. In the end we decided the price of setting up there would be too high in regards to sharing our lives together.

We're set up here in Devon my boys love it they were both born in UK and we feel there is far more here for them in regards to sports and clubs for young children etc. They're in school and loving it, my sole aim is now not to move around , give them a good confident foundation and they can go find their own adventures once they become of age....I still have an urge to up sticks but I'll vent it on holidays with the boys once all this current situation fades...I'd like to think we can live a simple life here and in turn be able to afford to get away and explore places...atb Joe

Fair play to you mate, that’s a really decent insight.

What things different may have persuaded you to stay if anything ?

As much as these simpler places are attractive to me & we do try to live a somewhat rural lifestyle, I also like some decent infrastructure near by. There’s a lot to be said for a good hospital just up the road, activities for the kids & decent restaurants etc
