mackay 3,331
In no way am I trying to reduce the severity of the situation, but, a couple of points, and this from someone I know in the nhs. Every death is being attributed to covid 19, and this is certainly true in some cases in many others the virus is killing people who were going to or were dying of other things. In instances where the cause of death wasn't logged as covid 19 the records were changed to covid 19. A great many people have it or have had it and showed no symptoms and recovered. No one seems to know the amount of people treated in hospital and released. How about as well as the daily death toll we get the good news results as well, and I understand if they play down the situation people may react accordingly and possibly put themselves and others at risk. But a wee bit of hope in these shit times wouldn't go amiss, because from what I'm reading on social media and even on here the cost to life through mental health, physical health, suicide and even if rioting kicks off is going to far outweigh the virus deaths. 3

My feelings are, you can’t ever rely on “facts” that you see released into the general media......they will either support your bias or reject it and none of it is checkable or is incredibly hard to check. Most people won’t be privy to the real inside information so you have to rely on what you actually know and your own common sense. My common sense tells me that shutting down the world is completely unprecedented and so there can’t be any question that this is very, very serious and we should be taking this seriously ! Believe what you see......not what you want to see.

They publish the numbers recovered to mate. Closed cases are split into recovered and dead. They also record the number of current cases which are mild or critical. Chaff 3,590
I hope the rinky dinks get some proper PPE to the NHS asap. Essential that they are fully protected against this covid they are now saying 2 to 4 weeks to peak. Let's hope they get the correct kit to our frontline NHS.
