Best way to clean up old traps

Hi guys, I was given some old rusty fenn traps that were found in an old shed. That are rusted as hell but still work.(as seen in photo) What’s the best way to clean them up?

Wire brush but if they still work don’t bothered

Just a light brush down and a drop of  peanut oil on the moving parts.

But the best question to ask is - can they be set easily and safely, and do they fire consistently?

My really bad traps I put them in white vinegar 24 hours or so,then give them a spray with liquid galvanising spray, works a treat certainly revives old traps,

Boil them in a pot of water and baking soda for about twenty minutes. Take out and clean them off with a wire brush. Let them dry, and then spray paint them. I do mine every two years.
