Well she's home now lads.

               She put in some close chronograph readings of just under 12 ft/lbs so I`ll keep an eye on her.

              My the HW factory built their guns well in the early eighties, 1983 in this case and built like a tank.

              She really has not been used at all, absolutely spotless, no marks, scratches wear marks, nothing, just like new.

              Put a good Hawk Panorama 4-12x40 ao,ir on her with half mill dot ret`.

             She is ready to zero/ calibrate now after being levelled and set to a plumb line, all old school but hell its precise.

had one a few years go took it out on the first night shot 5 rabbits sitting next to each other at 60 yards

all just rolled over dead.

TOOK it back to the rfd.s in the morning

I bought one of these when they where first imported by Hull cartridges. I had it for six months but couldn't get on with it, too heavy. I chopped it in against a new Sharps Ace which i still have after nearly forty years. I killed a lot of rabbits with the sharps. I always wanted a feinwerkbau sport but couldn't afford one. Then i found a minter 127 about eight years ago, still has the ASI sticker on the cylinder and fitted with an ASI 4x40 scope. It was in a localish gunshop that had no clue what it was so i bought it for 175 pound. I was very happy indeed.

Really well done on buying her! You have a unique bargain here. The first HW80s became legendary and set the mark of the rifle to come. I remember when it came out and everyone was talking  about it, saying how powerful it was. But the power was in the rifle's incredible accuracy. I have yet to see a vintage one nowadays in untouched mint condition as yours. 

If you email Weihrauch with the serial number on the barrel they will give you the year they made the rifle if you wish to know for sure.

I absolutely love the rifle. I've owned two x .22 80s and they just put every shot right on the button.

I recommend H&N Field Target Trophy for your first pellet to try with her mate. My HW80 is absolutely one hole accurate with 5.53mm headsize Trophies. Same pellet for my HW77 .22 HW rifles seem to love em!

Hi Simon, just ready and waiting to calibrate her mate but for this weather.

                 Thank you for the nudge on pellet choice , that's a great short cut I hope, I will definitely take your advice and try them out.

                 I have to say mate , the difference between the FWB Sport trigger and the HW80`s record trigger is a universe apart, the 80`s trigger is just superb in comparison.

                 She is legal, "just", so I`ll watch her hard.

                 They are built like tanks Simon, way stronger than todays guns, so glad I waited and looked hard for a totally untouched rifle, - taken just over 2 years of looking hard .

                 As said, the weather has stopped me working with her but I do have high expectations of her,- she just feels a very high class rifle.
